wherein i explored Simatai Great Wall

the great wall never fails to remind me of how much china is willing to do/give up in order to remind the world of their strength. essentially this has not changed, not since qin shi huang's time nor now (remember the olympics opening in beijing? their 60th anniversary?)
but nevertheless, the wall is a great place to visit. and i much prefered 司马台(simatai) to the touristy 八达岭 (badaling). 司马台 has not been as restored as much compared to badaling, which means some parts are harder to climb because of the lack of proper paths/steps. but strangely there is a freeness in being up there and looking out to your surroundings.
